Every birth in Aotearoa NZ must be registered by law. You should register the birth of your child within 2 months. It’s free to register your baby and apply for their IRD number, but there is a $55 to order a digital copy of their birth certificate.
Step 1. Fill out the application and upload your documents.
Step 2. Click on Google Pay to complete your application.
You’ll receive your child’s digital documentation within 3-5 working days.
