Congratulations, before you get married, you need to apply for a marriage license. This confirms it’s legal for you to marry. A marriage license costs $115. Anyone can apply online, whether you’re in Aotearoa NZ or abroad.
All passports are accepted as documentation. Visitors to Aotearoa NZ are welcome to apply.
Same sex marriage is legal in Aotearoa NZ.

Step 2. Click on Google Pay to complete your application.
You’ll receive your documentation within 3 working days.
