Every death in Aotearoa NZ must be registered by law. If you are using a funeral director they will register for you. You should register within 2 months of death. It’s free to register, but there is a $55 fee to order a digital copy of their death certificate.
Step 1. Fill out the application and upload your documents.
Step 2. Click on Google Pay to complete your application.
You’ll receive your digital documentation within 3-5 working days.
